The Passion...   If you have a consuming passion for waterfowl, I know you can relate to my words in your own way. I don’t have to tell you how waterfowl moments can excite your adrenaline, touch your heart, and maybe even your soul.

I consider the best of these moments, sacred, and always appreciate any time I can spend in the close presence of ducks, geese, swans and cranes in their natural habitat.

My passion for waterfowl lead me first to becoming an avid hunter growing up in the heart of the California Delta in the late 1950’s, then to a committed naturalist and waterfowl art collector during my middle years, and now to a waterfowl artist, photographer and writer.  This is the beginning of journey for enjoying and sharing my lifelong passion for waterfowl with you, in the hopes it will stir your passion as well.

I have been artistically inspired since the mid 70’s by four great master artists - Adamson, Bateman, Mass and Reece.  I believe that’s why I follow a somewhat untraditional path as a photographer.  I use my camera to create the basis for the pictures and paintings I already see in minds eye and naturalist’s heart - but don’t have the painters hand-eye coordination to create on my own.

Artistically and creatively, I follow my inner voice -  what I know as “the spirit” and you may know by another name - and have come to trust how it leads me to experience moments with waterfowl in their natural habitat that excite my passion and touch my heart and stirs my soul.  The camera provides me with a creative tool that helps me become an even more integral part of those moments, and then transform what I seen and felt into prints and other media that tell a story and can resonate in the hearts others.

I love every moment of this journey and the creative processes that are part of it.

Each print I release has its own story – its part of my life and a waterfowl moment I cherished along the way enough to want to share with you as well.

My WaterfowlMoments.com web site provides me with an online presence to connect with you,  share my creative work, and help generate revenue needed to expand the scope of this work over time. I got a late start in the 2007-2008 season, with field time spent close to home in the California Delta and Sutter Buttes waterfowl areas of California.

Each coming year I expect to expand my field work to other prime waterfowl areas - regionally, nationally and eventually, internationally.  My goal wherever I am will be to capture and share visual images, feelings, stories and the sprit of the waterfowl moments I experience and then share them with you through my prints, writing and keynote speaking.

I hope you will enjoy what you find here this year enough to become part of this online community.  I look forward to becoming a trusted source for waterfowl art, informative and entertaining newsletters and more, assisting you with what I have available on line as well as your requests for special orders or needs.  Signing up on my E-List will help me keep in touch as new developments take place, newsletters are published, etc.

Your questions, comments, etc. are always welcomed.  I enjoy connecting with like minded folks anywhere in the world... so contact me with anything you feel so inclined to share.  I look forward to hearing from you and responding!!

Sincerely.
